Annie Jeng is a Presser Award pianist from Washington DC. As an avid performer and educator, Annie strives to expand the horizons of classical music by presenting unique programs and curating concerts in alternative venues to reach audiences of all backgrounds. During her undergraduate studies at New York University, she started the music series, “Music with a Vue” at Bellevue Hospital, which brought live performances to patients and visitors of the hospital. Her most recent project, "Music by the Barrel," challenges the traditional concert experience by hosting a music series at the local Ann Arbor Distillery.

As a strong supporter of performing works by living composers, she has participated in the 2016 Nief-Norf Summer Festival for Contemporary Music, and has collaborated with the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) as well as Yarn/Wire. Annie is also a member of Back Pocket Duo with percussionist, Colin McCall. Annie teaches students of the University of Michigan Piano Preparatory Lab Program and is also on the faculty of the 2017 Schoolcraft College Summer Piano Festival. Annie received a Bachelor of Music (BM) and a minor in Public Health from New York University where she studied with Anne-Marie McDermott, Miyoko Lotto, and Dr. Jose Ramon Mendez. She completed her Master of Music (MM) at the University of Michigan and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Piano Performance and Pedagogy with Dr. Logan Skelton.
