CRISTINA DOMINGUEZ
Artist-Faculty, soprano Dramatic lyric soprano and actress born in Madrid, with a professional degree in Piano, Chamber Music and Music Theory, as well as Voice Teacher with the highest marks from the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid. Her passion for the performing arts led her to complement this training with classical and contemporary dance, simultaneously receiving a degree in Classical Ballet from the Royal Danish Theatre. She has completed numerous courses in scenic interpretation for singing including those held in the Academia Musicale Chiggiana de Siena (Italy) with Victoria de los Angeles and Carlo Bergonzzi; an Operatic Interpretation Course with the master E. Bataglia participating in the Salzburg International Music Festival (Austria), with Carlos Chausson in the Conservatorio Superior de Zaragoza, Chamber Opera Workshop of Gran Canaria with director Fabrizio Migliorino, Lyrical Master Class at the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid.

Her interest in the chamber music (Lied) and French Melody specialties has led her to expand her training with top figures such as Wolfram Rieger and Dalton Baldwin. In the operatic field, she received her training from masters Josefina Arregui, Teresa Berganza, Lorraine Nubar, Dante Mazzola (Teatro alla Scala) and Kayoco Tada. She currently perfects and expands her operatic repertoire with Barbara Bonney in Salzburg (Austria) and repertoire performer Katia Borissova (Mozarteum). She also collaborates with piano teaching led by master J. Antonio Alvarez Parejo (in the specialty of vocal singing accompaniment) at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Musica of Madrid.
She participated in the Festival del Teatro de Mérida, Festival Internacional de Santander, Salamanca and Las Palmas de Gran Canarias in the performance of Troya Siglo XXI, as a soloist of the ARS ENSEMBLE directed by Joan Valent, in a joint production with the Ballet de la Opera de Turín. She also appeared in the Magic Flute (first lady) directed by Dante Mazzola. She sang in the opening production in Las Palmas De Gran Canaria of “Il Duello Comico” by Paisiello, directed by Fabricio Migliorino, having the role of Clarice; the role of Mimi in “La Boheme” at the Opera de Sabadell y Asturias; Aida (high priestess) in Gijón; the role of Liu in “Turandot” and Donna Anna in “Don Giovanni” in distinct theatres across Germany and Austria ; Butterfly and Traviata, Fiordiligi in Cosí Fan Tutte (Mozart) and Adina in Elixir de Amor (Donizetti) with the Camerata lirica de España. Similarly, her repertoire includes roles such as Margarita in Faust (Gounod), Micaela in Carmen (Bizet) and the Countess in The Marriage of Figaro (Mozart)
In the oratory field, she has participated in the “Música Sacra en Reales Sitios de Madrid” cycle as a soloist in the Stabat Mater de Rossini offered by the Basílica del Real Monasterio del Escorial; Similarly, in the Festival de Música Sacra de Zaragoza (from 2008 to 2011) she performed as a soloist in the Stabat Mater de Haydn, Requiem de Mozart, Misa Solemne by Rossini in the Zaragoza cathedral and in the auditorium of this same city. In 2016, as part of the Easter week programming, various works were premiered in the Zaragoza basilica. She was invited to sing the Dia del Pilar in the Misa Mayor which was retransmitted over international television.
Having an extensive repertoire in both opera and chamber music, she has performed as a soloist in some of the most prestigious sites in Spain: The Real Jardín Botánico and the Prado museum, the Auditorio de La Real Fabrica de Tapices, the Lázaro Galdiano museum, the Fundación de la Casa de la Moneda y Timbre, the Fundación Caja Madrid, the Fundación La Caixa and the Fundación Repsol. She has offered diverse recitals and lyric galas in the Teatro Real, Liceo de Barcelona, Auditorios de La Coruña, Orense, Zaragoza, Jaén, Ciudad Real, Palacio Festivales de Santander, Palacio de la Audiencia de Soria, Castillo de Pedraza, etc.
She is also a lover of the musical comedy and movie soundtracks, having performed this type of repertoire in numerous concerts.
A multi-faceted and diverse artist, she worked on the soundtrack of La Mujer del Anarquista (composed by Zacarias De La Riva) which was awarded at the Berlin International Film Festival, as well as The Waiting, composed by composer and director Federico Jusid.
She also collaborated with dancer and choreographer Victor Ullate.
She participated in a project for the recording of an album (El Universo de Los Sentidos”) with Venezuelan pianist Edith Peña, 2016 Grammy nominee for best classical music album (“Danzas en todos los Tiempos”).
Since late 2018, she has formed part of the cast of the new musical VLAD (an adaptation of the musical based on the novel DRÁCULA by Bram Stoker) written by Placido F. Domingo and Samantha J. Freeman.
