Gerald Carpenter, of the Santa Barbara Independence, wrote of Dr. Hsu’s singing: “She has a lovely voice: sweet, pure and true. She sang the Strauss, “Four Last Songs,” with technical perfection and a surprising amount of insight—surprising inasmuch as she is far too young to be entirely at ease in this particular dispensation.”
In addition to her successful singing career, Dr. Hsu is also a very dedicated teacher. Many of her students have been international competition winners and have been invited to give concerts and sing operatic roles both in Taiwan and abroad. From 2002-2006 Dr. Hsu taught at the Taipei National University of the Arts as a visiting professor agreement with Tunghai University.
